Watching Tienanmen
Tienanmen Square was filled with security cameras, attempting to deter protests through the implied promise of later accountability for one's involvement. Many of the most obvious cameras, like the ones attached to the statues, had been removed since I was here last, though; China is aware that the eyes of the world are watching this square with great interest as the Beijing Olympics approach.
